Summary of Incident:
On and around January 23, 2009
the Tomah Police Department received several reports of gunshots
being fired near the Cemetery during the late evening and early
morning hours. Upon investigation it was determined that a
resident, Greg Aller who lives at 219 Center Street, was
discharging a weapon. Aller, who lives in the City of Tomah
city limits, was walking across the street and discharging the
firearm. This area would be considered rural property and not
within the confines of the city limits.
On February 15, 2009 at approx
1130pm Officers from the Tomah Police Department attempted to
stop a vehicle for a speeding violation. The operator of the
vehicle, later identified as Greg Aller, refused to stop and
was pursued to 219 Center street. Aller was confronted by the
Officer and refused to comply with verbal commands. Aller
fled into the house and refused
to comply with orders to come out.
The Monroe County Combined
Tactical Unit was summons to the scene. Aller eventually
complied with orders and came out out of the house.
A search warrant was executed
at 219 Center Street. During the search officers located
marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and numerous prescription type
medications. Officers also located 22 long guns including
rifles and shotguns. Along with the long guns 17 handguns and
revolvers were located. In addition to the weapons a large
quantity of assorted rounds of ammunition were located. Outside
the residence officers located spent bullet shells and a target,
clearly indicating that the firearms were being fired outside
the residence and in within the city limits.
Aller was transported to the
Monroe County Jail where he was booked for Reckless
Endangerment, Fleeing, Battery to a
Law Enforcement Officer,
Resisting Arrest, Operating
a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated/2nd Offense, and Operating
after Revocation, 1st Offense.
