Summary of Incident:
On March 31, 2009 at approximately 2:00pm, The Tomah Police Department was notified of a scam involving the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Tomah. Several citizens have been contacted by an automated voice system indicating Farmers and Merchants bank has detected suspicious or fraudulent activity with their account. You are then asked for specific account information and/or credit card information. Farmers and Merchants Bank confirmed this is a scam and customers should not release any information. If you receive a phone call soliciting this information contact your banking institution, credit card company or the Tomah Police Department at (608)374-7400.
