Summary of Incident:
On 10-21-09 at 4:23 p.m., a citizen contacted the Tomah Police
Department to report a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on E.
McCoy Boulevard in the City of Tomah. Officers were able to locate the
vehicle on Helen Walton Drive and observed the vehicle swerving on the
roadway and drive over the curb. Officers conducted a traffic stop on
the vehicle and identified the driver as Jeffrey S. Wood.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered to Jeffrey and he
was subsequently taken into custody for Operating Under Influence of
Intoxicant or Other Drug (3rd Offense). Jeffrey was also charged with
Bailjumping for violating conditions of his bond out of Columbia County.
Jeffrey was transported to the Monroe County Jail and released to the
custody of the jail staff. This case will be referred to the Monroe
County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
